The Sacco and Vanzetti case happened in the 1920s, both men were accused and convicted of murdering a guard and a paymaster on an armed robbery. They were electrocuted. The case got national attention because many people believed they were innocent and were only being sued because they were anarchists and defended the left-wing movement. With the rise of the anti-communist movement in America, they became targets. In 1977 the Governor of Massachusetts proclaimed that Sacco and Vanzetti did not receive a fair trial.
