Pitt's Pit Stop sold $9,683.00 worth of gasoline yesterday.

Regular sold for $2.45 a gallon, and premium sold for $2.55 a gallon.

If the station sold 340 more gallons of regular than of premium:

a. How many gallons of each type of gasoline were sold?

    total gasoline = 9683

    9683=2.45r+2.55 (r+340)

    9683=2.45r+2.55r+867

    9683=5r+867

    8816=5r

    1763.2=r
