Jack has been on a road trip for a few days. On the 5th day he starts driving, and after 3 hours he discovers he is 750 miles from his home. 4 hours after that, he discovers he is 538 miles from home. Assuming he is driving at a constant rate, find his speed and how far from home he was at the beginning of the 5th day.

    To find the constant speed, we know from the passage that after 4 hours he went 212 miles because 750-538 is 212. 212 divides by 4 is 53 so he is going 53 miles per hour.

    So all we need to do is figure 53 times 3 hours, which is 159, so we add 750+159 to get how many miles he is away from home
