If something is to a negative power is the number negative? eg: 5^-2

    No, you would but 5//-2 into an fraction. When you put it an a fraction, it becomes a positive. 1/5//2. This equals 1/25.

    not nessicarly it means you are moving the decimal left two places if it was positive you would move the decimal to the right two places
