    The answer looks like it would be 10. Just distribute, add your x's together that you have on the left side, and then add 1 to both sides.

    3 (x-1) - 2x=9

    Distribute the three

    3x-3-2x=9

    Simplify

    x-3=9

    Add 3 to both sides

    x=12

    Check:

    3 (12-1) - 2 (12) = 9

    3 (11) - 24=9

    33-24=9

    9=9

    There fore x=12
