The answer looks like it would be 10. Just distribute, add your x's together that you have on the left side, and then add 1 to both sides.

3 (x-1) - 2x=9
Distribute the three
3x-3-2x=9
Simplify
x-3=9
Add 3 to both sides
x=12
Check:
3 (12-1) - 2 (12) = 9
3 (11) - 24=9
33-24=9
9=9
There fore x=12
