Calculate the volume of blood moved per minute by a heart at rest. A heart "at rest" beats at a rate of 72 beats per minute and moves 70 milliliters (mL) of blood per beat. When the heart is stimulated by epinephrine (the fight or flight hormone), the heart rate doubles and the volume of blood moved per beat triples.
