    X + y = 35

    x = 35-y

    12x + 6y = 300

    12 (35-y) + 6y = 300

    420 - 12y + 6y = 300

    420 - 6y = 300

    -6y = - 120

    y = - 120 / - 6

    y = 20

    x = 35-20 = 15

    she bough 15 of the 12 packs
