Pentagon CRAFT has coordinates c (-2,1) r (-5,2) a (-6,7) f (-3,9) and t (-1,6) and is dilated by a scale factor of 2/3 at the origin. What are the coordinates of CRAFT after the dilation?

    First, we need to know the formula when a scale factor appears:

    New coordinate = (scale factor) * (old coordinate)

    So using this formula we have:

    1) c' = (-2,1) * 2/3

    c' = (-4/3,2/3)

    2) r = (-5,2) * 2/3

    r = (-10/3,4/3)

    3) a = (-6,7) * 2/3

    a = (-4,14/3)

    4) f = (-3,9) * 2/3

    f = (-2,6)

    5) t = (-1,6) * 2/3

    t = (-2/3,4)
