Is the equation m 3=-5 and m=-2 equivalent?

    The answer is no, the are not the same.

    by setting m as a subject for both equations, it will give you:

    m = - 5/3

    m = - 2

    from above, you can see that they are not equal. Thus, they aren't equivalent.
