Determine the slope of the line 8x - 4y - 9 = 0.

    8x-4y-9=0

    -8x - 8x

    -4y-9 = - 8x

    +9 + 9

    -4y = - 8x+9

    Divide by 4 on both side to have y by itself and you get

    y = 2x - 9/4

    The slope in this equation is 2x, so answer is 2.
