How do you simplify - (x-7)

    Because theres a - on the outside, theres technically a - 1.

    so distribute it and it becomes - x+7

    So I think.

    Another way to look at the problem is - 1 (-x-7). So you would do - 1 times - x which gives you positive x or 1x. Then take - 1 times - 7 which gives you 7.

    So the answer is x+7.
