In solving inequalities, it is best to be observant of the signs. As these negative or positive signs will determine whether or not we will have to switch the inequality signs.

    -2 (3x + 2) > - 8x + 6

    -6x - 4 > - 8x + 6

    Transfer and combine like terms.

    -6x + 8x > 6 + 4

    2x > 10

    x > 5

The final answer is 5. Using this solution, we didn't have to switch the inequality sign because we avoided the negative signs.
