We are given the weight of an elephant = 5000Kg.

Number of Kilograms of food an elephant eat = 150kg.

We need to find the percentage of its own weight does an elephant eat each day.

In order to find the percentage, of weight of food an elephant eat of his weight, we need to divide number of kilograms by total weight of elephant.

Then multiply the result by 100.

    150/5000 = 0.03.

On multiplying 0.03 by 100, we get 3.

Therefore, 3% of its own weight does an elephant eat each day.
