    The perimeter of a polygon is the sum of lengths of sides.

    P = (3x - 1) + (2x + 2) + (7x - 3) + 3x

    combine like terms

    P = (3x + 2x + 7x + 3x) + (-1 + 2 - 3) = 15x - 2
