The probability that a radish seed will germinate is 0.7. a gardener plants seeds in batches of 11. find the standard deviation for the random variable x, the number of seeds germinating in each batch.

    To calculate for the standard deviation given the probability, we use the formula:

    s = sqrt (n p q)

    where s is standard deviation, n is number of samples = 11, p is probability of success = 0.7, q = 1 - p = 0.30

    s = sqrt (11 * 0.7 * 0.3)

    s = 1.52
