Thomas drew a rectangle with an area of 6 square centimeters. what is the greatest possible perimeter for the rectangle?

Possible multiples include: 1&6 2&3 Then you just find the perimeter of the rectangle with your possible side lengths So let's start with: 1&6 So two of the side lengths are 1 And the other two side lengths are 6 So you would just find the sum of the four side lengths to find the perimeter 1 + 1 + 6 + 6 = 14 Now let's try 2&3 Two of the side lengths are 2 The other two side lengths are 3 Now to find the perimeter just add up the four side lengths 2 + 2 + 3 + 3 = 10 Now compare the two perimeters Which is bigger? 14? Or 10? Since fourteen is bigger than the greatest possible perimeter for the rectangle is 14cm
