In a bag of red and green sweets, the ratio of red sweets to green sweets is 3:4. if the bag contains 24 green sweets how many red sweets are there

    Set this up as a proportion 3:4 to x:24 and then you cross multiply getting:

    4x = 72

    Now divide by 4 and you get:

    x = 18

    so there are 18 red sweets.
