    Answer: f = 4.286 (in decimal, it is rounded to 3 decimal places), f = 30/7 (in fraction)

    Step-by-step explanation:

    -f + 8f = 30

    You only need to make a single f on one side of the equation.

    First you need to simplify the f, by working out - f + 8f.

    -f + 8f = 7f

    *Remember that when working out - f + 8f, first you need to forget about the minus and plus signs, and imagine you have 8f - f (f and 1f are the same thing), when you work it out you will have 7f. Now look back at 8f - f and look at the number which is the farthest away from 0, in this case 8f and has a plus then the 7f has a plus infront of it (when there is nothing infront of the number, it also means that there is a plus).

    So now you have:

    7f = 30

    Finally we remove the 7 from the 7f by switching places, but the number stays positive and the only thing that changes is that from invisible times that there is between the 7f, it turns into division on the other side.

    7f = 30

    f = 30:7

    f = 4.286 (it is rounded to 3 decimal places)
