The blue box and the yellow box have 6284 books together. The yellow box has 873 more books than the blue box. To the nearest thousand, about how many books are there in each box?

    The blue box contains about 3,000 while the yellow box contains 4,000 because by subtracting 6284 from 873 you will get an estimate of 5411 then if you divide by 2 it will equal to 2705.5 then adding 873 again you would receive 3,578.5 then estimate it to get 4,000 than do the same to 2705.5 which will give u the answer.
