    Perimeter (P) = 216 cm

    Side Length (s) = ?

    We know that,

    P = 4*s

    216 = 4*s

    s = 54

    Hence, the side is 54 cm.

    The perimeter is measuring all the way around something. So to get the perimeter of the painting you would take a measuring tape and measure all the way around the outside of it, that would be the perimeter.

    Therefore, we can find out how long each side is by dividing 216 by 4, because a square has four sides.

    216:4=54, so each side of the painting is 54 cm.
