If f (x) = 4x^2+1 and g (x) = x^2-5 find (f+g)

    Given:

    f (x) = 4x² + 1

    g (x) = x² - 5

    Then

    (f + g) (x) = 4x² + 1 + x² - 5

    = 5x² - 4

    Answer: 5x² - 4
