    If x+3 is a factor then f (-3) = 0.

    f (-3) = 4 (-3) ^3 + 3 (-3) ^2 - 6 (-3) + 8

    = - 108 + 27 + 18 + 8

    = - 55

    So x+3 is NOT a factor.

    Part B.

    We worked this out in Part A:
