    Total number of chips: 2 + 4 + 3 = 9

    total white chips = 3

    probability of picking white first = 3/9 = 1/3

after taking one chip there would be 9-1 = 8 chips left

and 3-1 2 white chips left

    probability of picking 2nd white chip = 2/8 = 1/4

    probability of picking both = 1/3 x 1/4 = 1/12

    answer is D
