The slope of a line and the perpendiular line that intercept will always have a product of - 1

If the slope k=-1/6, the perperndicular line can be found by finding the product of the slope and - 1

-1 = (slope) (perpendicular line slope)

perpendicular line slope = slope (-1)

    = - 1/6 (-1)

    = 6
