Dan has a flower shop. Each day he displays 24 roses. He gives away 10 and sells the rest. Each day he displays 36 carnations. He gives away 12 and sells the rest. What expression can you use to find out how many roses and carnations Dan sells in in a week.

    They are only asking for how many he sells so the ones he gives away don't mean anything.

    24-10=14

    Sells 14 roses a day

    36-12=24

    Sells 24 carnations a day

    X = number of roses and carnations sold in a week (7 days)

    X = 24 (7) + 14 (7)

    X = 168 + 98

    X = 266

    Dan sells a total of 266 roses and carnations a week.
