Brandon is baking cookies for a school bake sale. if he can make 2 dozen cookies in 23 minutes which is a reasonable estimate of the amount of time it will take him to make 12 dozen cookies?

    Estimate : 2 dozen cookies = 24 cookies ... so he can make 24 cookies in 23 minutes ... 12 dozen = 144 cookies ... he can make 144 cookies in 143 minutes. < = = this is the estimate

    2/23 = 12/x

    2x = 276

    x = 276/2

    x = 138 < = = this is the actual minutes
