15.15 oz to 16.00 oz

15.85 oz to 16.00 oz

    Answer: The range of acceptable values for production to continue is:

    Third option: 15.85 oz to 16.15 oz

    Be the weight of the box "x":

    If the discrepancy in weight is more than 0.15 oz, the production is stopped; than means if the dicrepancy in weight is less than 0.15 oz the production continues:

    |x-16|<=0.15 the production continues

    |z|<=a→-a<=z<=a

    In this case z=x-16, and a=0.15, then:

    |x-16|<=0.15→

    -0.15<=x-16<=0.15

    Solving forx: Adding 16:

    -0.15+16<=x-16+16<=0.15+16→

    15.85<=x<=16.15

    Answer: The range of acceptable values for production to continue is:

    Third option: 15.85 oz to 16.15 oz
