If f (x) = x^2+1 and g (x) = 3x+1, find 2f (1) + 3g (4)

    Finding f (1):

    f (1) = 1^2+1

    =2

    finding 2f (1):

    2f (1) = 2*2

    =4

    finding g (4) first:

    g (4) = 3*4+1

    =13

    finding 3g (4):

    3g (4) = 13*3

    =39

    now 2f (1) + 3g (4)

    =4+39

    =43
