    17/42 or 40.48% of parking space is not covered by the car

    Step-by-step explanation:

    First we have to calculate the surface of the parking space and the car.

    p = parking space

    p = 18ft * 7ft

    p = 126ft²

    c = car

    c = 15ft * 5ft

    c = 75ft²

    To find out how much parking space is not covered we first have to calculate what is covered, dividing the car by the parking space

    75/126 = 25/42

    to calculate the uncovered space we simply subtract 25/42 from 1

    1 - 25/42 = 17/42

    if we want it as a percentage we simply multiply it by 100

    17/42 * 100 = 40.47%

    17/42 or 40.48% of parking space is not covered by the car
