The elevation at the top of Mount Everest is 8850 meters. The temperature falls at a rate of 1 degree C per 100 meters. The base of Mount Everest is at an elevation of 5400 meters and it's temperature is (-3) degrees C. What is the temperature at the top of the mountain?

    5400 = - 3 8850-5100=3750m 1c = 100m

    5300 = - 2 3750/100 = 37.5

    5200 = - 1

    5100 = 0

    answer = 37.5 degrees C
