    1,360 miles

    Step-by-step explanation:

    1) If this new car drove 340 miles on 10 gallons of gas then you would divide 340 by 10:

    340miles : 10 gallons = 34 miles/gal

This means that for every gallon this car uses, it travels 34 miles.

    2) If you wanted to know how far you can drive on 40 gallons, then simply multiply it with 34 miles/gal

    40 * 34 = 1,360 miles

**I'm not sure how to answer the rate per hour, sorry.
