A family went out to dinner at their favorite restaurant on Saturday. The bill, before tax and tip, was

$136.50. A sales tax of 6% was added. The family then tipped the waiter 20% on the amount after the

sales tax was added to the bill. What was the amount, in dollars, of the sales tax?

    The sales tax was 8.19 because it was added before the tip was calculated
