A chess board has 8 rows of square with 8 squares in each row. Two players each put 16 chess piece on the board, with each piece on its own square. How many squares are empty now? Explain your answer.

    32 empty square pieces are empty because the total number of squares in the board is 8X8 which is 64 and for the spaces filled theres 16 for each player and there are two players so its 16x2 which us 32. The total number of soaces minus the filled spaces will give you the number of empty spaces. So 64-32=32
