How do you find the altitude of an equilateral triangle?

    Let the sides of the triangle be 2x. Hypothenus = 2x Adjacent = x By Pythagoras Theorem, Altitude/height = [ (2x) ^2-x^2]^0.5 = x (3^0.5)
