    2w (4w^2 - 2w) + 3w (-2w^2 + 8w)

First distribute 2w and 3w (you do this by multiplying them to all values inside the parentheses):

    8w^3 - 4w^2 - 6w^3 + 24w^2

Now simplify by adding/subtracting like terms:

    8w^3 - 6w^3 = 2w^3

    -4w^2 + 24w^2 = 20w^2

    So we have:

    2w^3 + 20w^2
