480 cm of wire will be used

    Step-by-step explanation:

I'm not really sure if this is right, but if what I think is right then ...

    the 3cm x 3cm grid is a square

made up of 1 x 1 cm squares

this uses 24 cm of wire

We want to find how much wire is used when having a square made up of 20 x 20 cm squared is

since in the first square it is - 1 x 1

    (to get from 1 to 20, we multiply by 20) - 20 x 20

then we know that since 24 cm of wire is used for 1 x 1

we then have to multiply 24 by 20 as we did it when we multiplied it by 1

    so, 24 x 20 = 480
