    Circumference has the arc

    c=2pir

    r=7

    c=2*7*pi

    c=14pi

    how much of the circle is the arc?

    full circle=360 degrees

    40=arc

    40/360=1/9

    1/9 times 14pi=14pi/9=4.8844444444

    hundreth

    4.88

    answer is 4.88 cm

    Let S be arc length

    We know circumference = 2πr

    The total angle in degrees is 360

    S / 2πr = Ф/360

    Where Ф is given angle

    S = (40/360) * 2π (7)

    S = 4.89 centimeters
