    let the price of a glass of milk be m and the price of seafood dinners to be s

    A. for the first equation, we can see that

    3m+5s = 38.5 ... 1

    and second equation

    m+2s = 15.15 ... 2

    B. 3m+5s = 38.5 ... 1

    m+2s=15.15 ... 2

    using substitution method

    make m subject in eqn 2

    m = 15.15 - 2s

    put m in eqn 1

    3 (15.15-2s) + 5s=38.5

    45.45 - 6s+5s = 38.5

    -6s + 5s = 38.5 - 45.45

    -s = - 6.95

    divide both sides by - 1

    s = $ 6.95

    m = 15.15 - 2s

    m = 15.15 - 2 (6.95)

    m = 15.15 - 13.9

    m=$ 1.25

    therefore the price of a glass of milk is $1.25 and the price of a seafood dinner is $6.95
