Expand and simplify (x-2) (3x+5)

    So use distributive property

    a (b+c) = ab+ac or in this case

    (a+b) (c+d) = (a+b) (c) + (a+b) (d) = ac+bc+ad+bd

    so

    multiply each

    (x-2) (3x+5) = (x-2) (3x) + (x-2) (5) = 3x^2-6x+5x-10 = add like terms 3x^2-x-10
