    Length: 7 inches, Width: 5 inches

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Width: w

    Length: w + 2

    w (w + 2) = 35

    w² + 2w - 35 = 0

    w² + 7w - 5w - 35 = 0

    w (w + 7) - 5 (w + 7) = 0

    (w + 7) (w - 5) = 0

    w = 5, - 7

    Since w is the width, can't be negative

    w = 5

    Length = w + 2 = 5 + 2 = 7
