He perimeter of a rectangle is 16 inches. The equation that represents the perimeter of the rectangle is 2l + 2w = 16, wherel represents the length of the rectangle and w represents the width of the rectangle. Which value is possible for the length of the rectangle?

    2l + 2w = 16

    2 (l + w) = 16 Divide both sides by 2

    l + w = 16/2

    l + w = 8

    So for example the length l could be 5 and the width could be 3.

    Length could be 5.

    Length l could be 6 and width be 2.

    Length could be 6 as well.
