The diagonal of a TV set is 52 inches long. It's length is 28 inches more than the heigh. Find the dimensions of the TV set.

    The diagonal makes a triangle. Pythagorous means that 52^2=L^2+w^2. 52^2=2704. 2704/2 is 1352. The square root of this is 36.77 inches. If you add 14 onto one and minus 14 from the other (because 14+14=28) you get 50.77 inches (the width) and 22.77 inches (the height).
