Alyssa is factoring the following expression p∆2-8p-9. She said the answer is (p-1) (p + 9). Is she correct? If not, explain her error and find the correct answer.

    Therefore, she's incorrect. Because (p-1) (p+9) = p^2-p+9p-9=p^2+8p-9 and that's different from p^2-8p-9.
