    We can write an equation to solve this:

    Let x represent amount of Blue Jays.

    2x + x = 21

    We can simplify the equation:

    3x = 21

    Divide both sides by 3 to isolate x variable:

    x = 7

    Therefore, 7 Blue Jays.
