    84 + 75 + 76 + 80 + 48 + 75 = 438

    438 / 6 = 73

    mean = 73

    The outlier is 48, so when you remove it, there will now be only five numbers in the set, and the mean will increase in size.

    84 + 75 + 76 + 80 + 75 = 390

    390 / 5 = 78

    NEW mean (without the outlier) : 78
