City A has a population of 325,000 people and uses and average of 28,925,000 gallons of water per day. How many gallons of water per day should we expect to see city B to produce if it's population is 300,000 people

    The answer is 26, 700,000.

    You have to set up a proportion problem for these:

    Gallons for city A/population A = gallons for B/population B

    28,925,000/325000 = x/300000

    89 = x/300000

    x = 89*300000

    x = 27,600,000 gallons
