    perimiter=2 (L+W) = 42

    42=2 (L+W)

    divide by 2

    21=L+W

    length is 6 longer than width

    L=6+W

    subsituet

    21=L+W

    21 = (6+W) + W

    21=6+2W

    minus 6 both sides

    15=2W

    7.5=W

    width is 7.5 meters
