The answer is - 7.4 because you switch from positive to negative

The answer is 7.4 because when having any number the absolute value is that number as long as it is not a negative number. For example the absolute value of 4.4 is 4.4. same goes for your number. Also say the number is - 7.4 then the absolute value is 7.4. Just dropping the negative part.
