P is the cost of each packet of gum.

    money left with LeBron = 6 - 4p

    money left with James = 5 - 2p

total money left with LeBron and James

    = 6 - 4p + 5 - 2p

    = 11 - 6p

    LeBron : 6 - 4g

    James : 5 - 2g

what they both have after buying gum ...

    6 - 4g + 5 - 2g = 11 - 6g
