    A) Mark speed = 7mph Annie speed is 1.2miles faster at 8.2mph

    B) Mark had sailed ratio to Annie 17.5: 20.5

    = 3mph faster in 15 minutes This makes it 12mph faster every 5 hrs

    The percentage speed of Mark is 83% of 100% of Annie.

    This makes Annie 7% faster

    7% of 7mph = 1.2 so it has to be 1.2miles faster and not 12mph faster to meet at 15minutes.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Annie is 12mph faster they pass 15mins after departure

    = 0-15 = Annie is 4mp faster than Mark at 15mins.

    Annie = 5 miles = m+60m = 60 this makes mark 5.6 : 6 ratio per 15 minutes 28:30 = 1.4 : 1.5 ratio at 15 minutes.

    Mark = 5 miles = 5 x 1.4 = 7mph + 0m = 7mph

    Annie = 5 miles = 5 x 1.5 = 7.5mph + 7 = 8.2mph

    A=We can check that 1/4 of 8.2mph distance = 2.5 per 15mins

    M=We can check that 1/4 of 7.0mph distance = 1.75 per 15mins

    A=We can check that 2.05 per 15mins = 2.5 x 4 = 8.2 mph = 41miles in 5 hr

    M=We cna check that 1.75 per 15mins = 1.7 x 4 x 5 = 7mph = 35 miles every 5hr
